Michael Douglas has given fans a look at how he spent a sunny Sunday in New York City, trading the usual Hollywood spotlight for a simple day outdoors.
The 81-year-old actor shared a video on Instagram documenting his return to New York, beginning with a walk through Central Park. Douglas appeared in good spirits as he took in the scenery and spoke directly to his followers about the beautiful day.
His day continued with a ride through the park in a pedicab, giving him the chance to enjoy the city at a slower pace. The footage offered a personal glimpse of Douglas away from film sets and red carpets, as he moved through one of New York's most recognizable landmarks.
Douglas is approaching his 82nd birthday on September 25. The New York outing also comes as he prepares for the release of his memoir, One Helluva Ride, which is scheduled to arrive on October 6.
The memoir is expected to look back at different chapters of Douglas' life and career, including his complicated relationship with his late father, Hollywood legend Kirk Douglas. He has also spoken about wanting to tell his story in his own words rather than through the version of his life that has often been presented by the media.
Douglas remains active in the entertainment industry. His recent screen work includes the 2025 film Looking Through Water, while he has also been linked to Oliver Stone's upcoming film White Lies, which would reunite the actor and director following their work together on the Wall Street films.
For Douglas, however, the latest video was not about a premiere or a major Hollywood event. It was simply a Sunday in New York — a walk, a ride through Central Park and a chance to enjoy the city.
