Uhuru Kenyatta’s Farewell to Raila Odinga

During the state funeral of Raila Amolo Odinga held at Nyayo Stadium, Nairobi, on 17 October 2025, former President Uhuru Kenyatta paid his respects to the late leader.

Kenyatta described Odinga as one of the most significant figures in Kenya’s political journey, saying his contribution to democracy, justice, and devolution would remain part of the country’s permanent record.

He noted that Odinga’s work for freedom and human rights had left a lasting imprint on Kenya’s history and called on citizens to protect the values Odinga stood for.

Kenyatta concluded his remarks by bidding farewell to his long-time political ally, expressing hope that the principles Odinga fought for would continue to guide future generations.
